Cecily strong

  Cecily Legler Strong was born February 8, 1984. She is an American comic and actress. Strong is well-known for her role as an Saturday Night Live cast member from 2012 to 2022. Strong has the longest tenure of a female actor in the history of the show. Strong was recruited for SNL when she was performing improv in The Second City in Chicago and then moved to Los Angeles after graduating from CalArts. Strong is currently starring in a role on the Apple TV+ musical comedy series Schmigadoon! She co-produces the show (2021 until present).



 



 Other roles she's played as a voice actor include The Awesomes (2013-2015), and supporting roles in films like Ghostbusters, The Meddler and The Female Brain. She hosted the White House Correspondents' Dinner in 2015. In 2021, her debut book, The Memoir This Will Be Over Soon Soon, was released.



 



 The show was nominated by Primetime Emmy Awards at the 72nd and 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards as Outstanding Supporting Artist on the Comedy Series for her work on Saturday Night Live.



 



 Early life



 Strong was born in Springfield Illinois and grew up in Oak Park (an inner-ring suburb of Chicago). Strong is the daughter of Penelope and William "Bill" Strong, who was an Associated Press bureau chief and at the time of his death, he was running his own PR firm. Penny Legler Strong has extensive experience as a nurse and has worked at several local hospitals. Strong's parents divorced. Strong was a fan of SNL as a child and reenacting sketches with a friend and watching old SNL commercials on VHS. "I had a tape of the best commercials, and I wore it every day." She also said that Phil Hartman was the person who inspired her.
